My second trip to Europe this year was to Milan, Italy, about two weeks ago with my shopping buddy, travel buddy, mom! She and I love have same interests (shopping, of course!) when it comes to traveling so we make a great team. We've been trying our luck to get any kinds of Hermes bags in Chicago, and this year, thanks to our SA, we were lucky enough to get hands on a Garden bag, three of 24/24 bags, and an Herbag. Birkin and Kelly are impossible to get, so we're still on that "wishlist" (Hermes doesn't even call it a 'waitlist' because you can WISH for it, but doesn't mean you'll get it!). After Birkin and Kelly, our top 3 bags we've been waiting for are: Picotin Lock, Constance, and Lindy bag.

THEN, MILAN HAPPENED!!!! On our first day, we went to an Hermes store right away- we were asked to wait for about 30 minutes to talk with a sales associate. But...that wait turned into a 2 hour wait and I was thinking, "I'd better get something after this long wait!!!!" and nope, the SA told us everything they had for today is all sold out and we should come as soon as the store opens, then maybe I will have a better luck. The SA and I talked for some time and expressed how I really want either a Picotin Lock, Constance, or Lindy bag. Then she whispered, "come tomorrow when we open, maybe I will have something for you."

The next day, my mom and I didn't really expect anything much, and went into the store first thing in the morning! The SA smiled at me, and said, "Follow me to the secret room."

The SA brought an orange box and my eyes were already glistening. She smiled and said, "Picotin 18 in Sellier Rouge". I couldn't believe my eyes!

As my SA in Chicago said, "You don't get to choose an Hermes bag, it gets to choose you"---this beautiful bag chose us in Milan, Italy!

As our traveling tradition (my husband always gives me money before the trip, tells me to buy something nice for my mom, he's such a sweetheart), I (more like my husband) bought mom a pair of Flex Sneakers, an Isola di Primavera scarf 90, and a rodeo! Happy mommy, happy daughter and son-in-law!

When mom and I went to Paris back in March, we didn't get to see anything close to a bag, and in my honest opinion, people who work at Hermes stores in Paris are pretty rude and won't do anything to help. My experience in Milan was so much better--people were a lot nicer (not just Hermes stores, I'm talking about generally---at a restaurant, cafe or any kinds of stores).

This wasn't our first time in France or Italy, but every time we travel to France, we just find ourselves not really enjoying as much. And this trip made it super clear that I enjoy Italy more than France. Maybe I'm being bias because I got an Hermes bag in Italy 🤣, but hey, that's also part of the experience, right? P.S. Don't get me wrong, that doesn't mean I don't enjoy France! I LOVE FRANCE, TOO!
